The Brevard Old Red Eye Rugby Club's 14th Annual Spring Golf
Tournament will be held on Saturday, May 8th, at Sebastian Municipal Golf
Course in Sebastian. This event is being held to support the Old
Red Eye and Big Brothers Big Sisters
of Central Florida.
The format — 4-person select-shot with an 7:45AM shotgun start — is the same as previous tournaments. Your entry fee includes greens fees, cart rental, lunch and awards ceremony (including a raffle and lots of door prizes) following the tournament, as well as a pre-tournament party the night before.
We will award individual cash prizes for men and women for closest to the pin on all four par 3's and longest and straightest drives. We will also award team prizes for the top 3 finishers in A and B flights (determined by final scores), and at least the winner in mixed (2 men/2 women). Trophies will also be awarded in each flight.
The pre-tournament keg party will be Friday evening, 6–10PM, at Beef O'Bradys (map) in the K-Mart plaza, at the intersection of Palm Bay Road and Babcock in Palm Bay. The post-tournament awards ceremony and cookout (hamburgers, hotdogs, beans, potato salad, soda, beer) will be be at the course immediately following the tournament.
Tournament Rules
- Select shot — use best shot of the four each time and all four then hit from that spot.
- Team mulligan ball will be available for $20, and can be used for any shot except putting. If you lose it, no more mulligans.
- One score for each team (must turn in card) — turning in mulligan ball will subtract 2 strokes.
- Men use white tees. Ladies use red tees.
- Flight A and Flight B will be determined by final scores.
- Mixed foursomes must have 2 members of the opposite sex.
- Winners will be announced at the post-tournament party.
Course Rules
- All players must wear spikeless shoes, golf-type shorts and collared shirts.
- No personal food, beverages, or coolers are allowed on the course.
Tournament Sponsors
Many local businesses sponsor a hole or supply raffle prizes. If you’ve supported us in the past you know that money raised by this event will be used to defray club expenses and help local charities. You can assist our efforts with either a hole sponsorship, or by the donation of door prizes. A $100 hole sponsorship donation by you or your company will be designated with a professionally made sign at the tee box and your sponsorship will also be denoted in a “Hole Sponsor Listing” that will be made available to each player. As a token of our appreciation, you, or your business, will be prominently linked from our web site and will receive your choice of either a limited-edition, top-quality golf shirt or a plaque.
