Here is the flyer for our Spring tounament Spring 2010 Golf Flyer. For those of you new to the club, this is our big fundraiser. We do another tounament in the fall but this is our main source of income - and charitable donations, and with your help we can it even more successful.
Some of the money we raise goes to local charities and other worthwhile causes and raises positive public awareness of the club. We use the rest to do extra things for the club - like help with travel costs, insurance and upkeep for the van, get coaching materials, send guys to clinics or camps, get better training equipment, or maybe start another Youth team in the south part of the county.
So, how can you help? Playing? Recruiting other golfers? Sure - we can always use golfers - but there are several other ways - even if you don't golf or know anybody that does. Download and print out this sponsor request letter Spring 2010 Sponsor Request Letter and use it for the following:
1) We need raffle prizes. They can be gift certificates for haircuts, oil changes, dinners, etc. I'm sure all of you have a regular place where you get your hair cut, your oil changed, or a favorite place to eat out. Either e-mail these forms to people you know or print out the Sponsor Request Letter and take it when you - all you have to do is give it to them - explain that we use the money we raise to support the Rugby Club (the Men and the Youth) and local charities - especially Big Brothers Big Sisters - ask if they'll donate something or be a Sponsor - they'll either say “Yes”, “No” or “Maybe”. If they say “Yes” that's great! Get it to me. If they say “No” say “Thank You” and leave. If they say “Maybe” then check back in a few days. That's it.
2) Or maybe they're willing to donate money. A Hole Sponsor is $150 - and they get a really nice shirt or plaque in return. You'll get credit for any money you bring in (including the Youth).
3) You can also help the day of the tournament. Let me know if you (or your wife or girlfriend) would like to help out and we'll figure out what needs to be done. There's a couple of parties and a free lunch in it - along with our thanks.
