The Brevard Rugby Club used a dominating second half to overcome a 3-0 Pasco County halftime lead to win 35-10. Red Eye youth, fitness and strategic substitutions to start the second half wore down the Myrmidons in the second half.
Newly elected team captain and scrumhalf David Sugimoto opened the second half scoring by picking up a loose ball and running into the try zone untouched. Chandler Wilson converted the score for a 7-3 Brevard lead. Sugi scored later in the match with Chandler also successfully converting.
Former Brevard Youth and FRU U-19 Select Side player, Dewayne Parks, starting his first senior match at fullback, also scored two trys with Chandler sucessfully converting both of them as well. His first try was on a nice pick up of a loose ball and the second was a 75 meter counter of a Pasco County kick.
Second Row, and Man of the Match, Bill Prendergast, notched his first try to add to the second half outburst. Chandler Wilson was again successful on the conversion to end the match with 10 points.
Pasco County scored late in the second half to make the final score 35-10.
