Brevard ran its record to 2-1 with a dramatic come from behind home victory over Jacksonville on Saturday. The Red Eyes dominated the second half after overcoming a 20-15 halftime deficit, and were constantly playing within meters of the Jacksonville goak, but could manage only a single unconverted try.
With time running down, and the score knotted at 20, flyhalf, and Man of the Match, Zac Peterson, took the pass from the scrumhalf, drifted to his left and with a defender in his face, launched a left-footed drop kick from about 15 meters out, to put the Red Eyes ahead.
He had a chance to extend the lead moments later with a penalty kick but it was wide left. It was not needed, as seconds later the referee blew the whistle to end the match and the Red Eyes had notched a well-deserved victory.
Brevard is off next week and return to action against Orlando in Tavares, at All Florida Day, on October 13th.Posted by Corkey at September 30, 2007 09:30 PM
