Kit and Jewelry

Hello all, just a quick email on two things.

Kit: While it is ok (most of the time) to tape up the sleeves on long sleeve jerseys, it is not ok to wrap yourself in tape around the chest or midsection to make a big jersey tight. Buy tighter jerseys, or wear what you got with out the tape. USA Rugby South and the IRB are very specific about the approved kits, and what tape can be used for, and neither says it can be used to tighten baggy jerseys. One other note on kit, if you have thought about putting Vaseline or KY jelly on your jerseys, don’t. That is not approve use for those items either.

I continue to hear from players who don’t want to, and refs who continue to ask players to, remove piercing. All jewelry is to be removed before you play in a rugby match. Putting tape on them is not removing them.

Cheers,
