CAYMAN ISLANDS RUGBY FOOTBALL UNION

Dear Steve and Brevard RFC

With the rugby season just getting underway here in the Cayman Islands, we are currently compiling our playing schedule for the season ahead.

We are extremely keen to re-establish our close relationship with the Florida rugby teams.

We would be delighted if you were to accept our invitation to your club, to come to the Cayman Islands for a rugby tour.

The Cayman Islands Rugby Union since its inception, over 30 years ago, has rapidly established itself as one of the most successful unions in the Caribbean. There are 3 club sides, a Veterans side, and National Men’s and Women’s teams. Currently there are over 1500 children playing rugby in the schools.

After recent wins over Jamaica, Bahamas, and Bermuda, the National Men’s XV is currently rated as the top side in the Caribbean.

If you do not know already, the Cayman Islands are situated 100 miles west of Jamaica, and 150 miles south of Cuba. The main island, Grand Cayman, is 20 miles long and 7 miles at its widest point, with a population of 40 000. We enjoy a hot climate all year round, beautiful beaches, and some of the best diving in the world. The Cayman Islands has the highest standard of living in the Caribbean, and offers high quality tourism in a safe and affordable environment.

We have arranged exceptional discounts with the National Airline, Cayman Airways, and can offer flights (excl Taxes) for:
US$179.00 round trip - Miami,
US$188.00 round trip - Tampa.

We have also arranged discounted rates at the Comfort Suites in the heart of Seven Mile Beach for a little as US$ 44.00 per night/ per person.

If this were to make the trip too expensive, we could also look for you team to stay with our players at their homes. A tour could be for just a weekend, if that was to make it more convenient for your team. For a $200.00 flight an no accommodation to pay for, it could make for a great weekend, or even a long weekend over the holidays.

We have very recently hosted Harvard Business School, Long Island Beach RFC, and The Dallas Harlequins, all of which will be returning after excellent tours. We pride ourselves on making our touring sides feel welcome, arranging sightseeing trips, diving, BBQ’s, parties and lots more.

We can guarantee that you will have an excellent tour here in the Cayman Islands.

The Miami Old Boys used to have an annual trip that coincided with Pirates Fest kick-off to “in season”. Excellent time all the way around.
